Opposition leader Manik Sarkar addressing a sit-in demonstration called by the Tripura Sabha Sundar Unnayan Samiti in Agartala on Saturday

Agartala: The people are forced to sell their infants and leave their home in search of food following an acute crisis of food and work, alleged Opposition leader and former chief minister Manik Sarkar here on Saturday.

Speaking in a sit-in demonstration called by “Tripura Sabha Sundar Unnayan Samiti”, Sarkar said that the Centre is implementing one after other policies like Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) National Register of Citizen (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) to divert the minds of the people from common issues.

“The BJP-IPFT government has completed 23 months in the government but they have failed to fulfill any of their promises made to the people of the state prior to the elections,” Sarkar said.

“They are trying to put an end to the rights of SC, ST and OBC community. Attack over the minority people is also made by implementing CAA. The Agenda is to drive out all the Muslims from the country. Not only Muslims but also poor people of all the sections,” Sarkar added.

Sarkar also urges people to come forward and protest against the ruling BJP and their anti-people decisions.
