Agartala: The people are forced to sell their infants and leave their home in search of food following an acute crisis of food and work, alleged Opposition leader and former chief minister Manik Sarkar here on Saturday.

Speaking in a sit-in demonstration called by “Tripura Sabha Sundar Unnayan Samiti”, Sarkar said that the Centre is implementing one after other policies like Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) National Register of Citizen (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) to divert the minds of the people from common issues.

“The BJP-IPFT government has completed 23 months in the government but they have failed to fulfill any of their promises made to the people of the state prior to the elections,” Sarkar said.
