G20: Nagas urge delegates to help resolve Indo-Naga peace talks

The second Employment Working Group (EWG) of the G20 has commenced in Brasilia, Brazil. The meeting, which is being co-chaired by India, Brazil, and South Africa, is focused on promoting decent work and inclusive growth.

The EWG has discussed a number of key issues, including gender equality and diversity in the workplace. The Indian delegation has stressed the need for promoting inclusive environments in the workplace by ensuring equal representation and empowerment for all workers. This is in line with India’s efforts to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace. The delegation has also highlighted the steps taken by the government to improve the employment opportunities of women, including the enactment of the Occupational Safety Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, which entitles women to be employed in all establishments for all types of work with their consent at night time.

The EWG has also discussed the role of technology in promoting inclusive growth and employment. The delegation has emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to enhance the quality of life for all and promote gender equity. The meeting also discussed the need for a just transition to digital and energy transformations, which can help in creating sustainable growth opportunities.
