GANGTOK: Sikkim photographer Karma Sonam Bhutia won the Award of Excellence in COVID-19 category for Pictures of the Year Asia 2022 awards on April 8. Bhutia, a contributor for Zuma Press, is a multimedia journalist based in New Delhi/Sikkim. He was among the eight winners from Asia in the COVID-19 category and one of the two photographers to win the Award of Excellence.
In an exclusive conversation with EastMojo, Karma Sonam Bhutia shared, “Getting my work acknowledged on platforms like Pictures of the Year Asia 2022 keeps me constantly motivated and fills me with a sense of accomplishment and the satisfaction of contributing to society in my small way.”
Karma Bhutia’s photography is based entirely on his field experience.
