Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court order against the NTA, which sought the Supreme Court’s intervention, has been stayed.

The Supreme Court on Thursday took notice of the National Testing Agency’s plea, allowing it to release the NEET 2021 results. The exam was held on September 12.

The court will decide what happens to the two students upon reopening (post Diwali), said the court, citing that they cannot hold back the results of 16 lakh students.

The Bombay High Court had on October 20 directed the NTA to hold a fresh exam for two students – Vaishanavi Bhopali and Abhishek Shivaji — and declare their results along with the main results of the test conducted on September 12.

The high court took note of the fact that the test booklet and OMR sheets of the two medical aspirants got mixed up at the examination centre before the start of the test and ordered that they be given a fresh opportunity to appear.
