Govt. of India blocks more apps Credit: Representational image

The ministry of electronic and information technology (MEITY) of the Government of India on Tuesday blocked 43 mobile apps including Alibaba Workbench, Alipay Cashier, AliExpress, CamCard and WeDate, for engaging in activities allegedly prejudicial to India’s sovereignty, integrity, defence security and public order.

An official statement released by the ministry said, “Ministry of electronics and information technology has issued the order for blocking the access of these apps by users in India based on the comprehensive reports received from Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center, ministry of home affairs,”
