Meghalaya CM: About 2,000 cases filed against illegal coal activities in the last 5 years

Shillong: Talking about the Meghalaya government’s response to illegal coal mining and transportation, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma informed that almost 2,000 cases has been filed in the last 5 years.

In 2014 there were 203 cases and in 2015 there were 541 cases. The numbers for 2016, 2017 and 2018 are 117, 274, and 400 cases respectively, Sangma informed the assembly.

Sangma’s response comes amid the question hour of Autumn Session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
