Manipur: 86, including 59 non-returnees, test positive for COVID-19

Imphal: At least 86 more persons, including 15 security forces personnel, were shifted to COVID-19 care centres on Friday after they were found positive for the novel coronavirus in Manipur.

Their samples were tested positive at VRDLs of RIMS (31), JNIMS (12), STD/IRL (2), Raj Medicity (1), Babina Diagnostics (10), Bishnupur (2), Churachandpur (11), Thoubal (1) and Imphal West (16), said additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang.

Of the 71 fresh cases reported from the general population, only 13 of them belonging to Churachandpur (9), Bishnupur (3) and Kakching (1) are returnees from other states and the rest 59 are locals with no travel history.
