Kohima: A total of 40 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Nagaland on Friday taking the state’s total to 956. A frontline worker from Peren and 39 others from Dimapur were tested positive for COVID-19. The fresh cases were reported out of 146 samples that were sent for testing.

As per the information received from the Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) Office in Peren, a security person, who is a non healthcare frontline worker, tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

It informed that one case tested positive from the TrueNat machine and therefore, a confirmation is still awaited. Another case of TrueNat positive has been reported, however, on ICMR confirmation, the sample tested negative. Contact tracing has also been activated and active surveillance is being undertaken, it informed.
