Guwahati: Assam heartthrob Zubeen Garg is gradually recovering, except for a mild body weakness, sources close to his attending doctors said on Monday morning.
As per sources, the Ya Ali singer was hospitalised after he collapsed during an event in Guwahati on Friday evening and is likely to be at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Nemcare Hospital for another one or two days. Garg, who is being administered a proper diet schedule by the hospital authorities, is said to be up and walking albeit with a little support.
Speaking with EastMojo, Garg’s manager Siddharth Sharma said that on Monday morning, Garg had a proper breakfast comprising an omelette and fruit juices as prescribed by his physicians.
Interestingly, Sharma informed that Zubeen has been watching football matches and movies on TV lying from his hospital bed.
Sharma further revealed that unlike initially when he was brought to the hospital, Garg is now being monitored by at least six doctors from respective departments of the hospital round the clock.
Bringing a sigh of relief to his fans and well-wishers, Sharma said as per speculations from physicians attending him, Garg soon will be released from hospital once his body recovers from the mild weakness.
Earlier on Saturday, as per sources from Nemcare Hospital, it was informed that Garg got a few stitches on his tongue as both the sides of the artiste’s teeth remained closed as he fell to the ground after fainting. It has also been said that the singer got hurt on his neck and hand as he was pulled by his fans to the emergency unit of the hospital. However, the hospital authorities have said that his health condition is stable and he is recovering fast.
On February 27, the singing sensation collapsed during an event at the Guwahati Town Club following which he was rushed to the emergency ward at Nemcare Hospital at Bhangagarh locality of the city. Immediately after he got admitted, a team of doctors conducted preliminary treatment and revealed that the popular artiste fainted due to lack of sleep and overwork.
Immediately after the news of the popular singer surfaced all over social media, his fans and well-wishers from all parts of the city thronged into the hospital premises and were seen praying for his early recovery. Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma too prayed for quick recovery of the singer. In addition to it, prayers were being conducted at various corners of the state for early recovery of the singer by his fan clubs.
