Dimapur: The Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) has written to the president and executive members of the various District Chamber of Commerce and Industry to allow for a window period of relaxation in the ongoing shutdown for citizens to stock their essential needs.

It must be noted that the CNCCI had called for an all-Nagaland Indefinite shutter down that started on Saturday, April 27. All shops and business establishments across most districts remained closed, except for healthcare facilities, educational institutions, government offices and banks.

The call for an ongoing indefinite shutdown that began in Dimapur, which kicked off in the city on Friday, April 26 and later extended across Nagaland, has triggered a surge in demand for essential commodities in neighbouring areas of Assam.
