Aizawl: The Gauhati High Court’s Aizawl Bench has raised serious concerns about the Mizoram government’s failure to take action on an FIR regarding areca nut smuggling that has languished unresolved for over three years.
The court questioned why the FIR, registered in 2021, has not been acted upon, highlighting a protracted period of inaction on a pressing issue.
The Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed by prominent Mizoram activist Vanramchhuangi, also known as Ruatfela Nu. Her petition, spanning three years of legal limbo, underscores the urgency of the matter.
