Aizawl: In a coordinated effort, Assam Rifles in collaboration with the Special Narcotics Police Station, CID (Crime), Aizawl, Mizoram, successfully intercepted and seized a significant quantity of methamphetamine tablets in Mualpuikawn, Salem Veng K-Section, Aizawl. The operation, conducted on April 27, 2024, resulted in the apprehension of one individual suspected of involvement in drug trafficking.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a joint team comprising personnel from Assam Rifles and the Special Narcotics Police Station launched the operation, targeting illicit drug activities in the region.
The operation culminated in the recovery of a staggering 20,000 methamphetamine tablets, weighing approximately 1.908 kilograms. The street value of the seized contraband is estimated to be a staggering Rs 6,66,60,000 (Rupees six crore sixty-six lakhs sixty thousand only).
