Meghalaya to draft Film Policy, promote local film industry

Shillong: In a move to boost the state’s film industry, the Meghalaya government, under the Information & Public Relations Department led by Commissioner & Secretary Vijay Kumar Mantri, IAS, has initiated discussions with prominent filmmakers.

The department is drafting a comprehensive Film Policy to address the needs and challenges faced by local filmmakers. This policy aims to create a win-win situation, supporting local talent while attracting outside filmmakers.

The government is also mulling to provide facilities for film shooting, fostering collaboration between local artists and visiting productions.
