Manipur: Assam Rifle personnel allegedly commits suicide in Churachandpur

Imphal: A member of the Assam Rifles reportedly shot himself dead using his service rifle in Churachandpur district on Sunday.

According to an official report, the rifleman from the 36 Assam Rifles is suspected to have committed suicide by using his service rifle on the ground near the 1st IRB Kote, located within the 36 AR Headquarters camp in Churachandpur district.

The deceased personnel has been identified as Rifleman (GD) Gopal Biswakarma, son of (Late) Purna Biswakarma, from Rajabari Village, PO-Rajabari, PS-Gohpur, Sonitpur district in Assam.
