Imphal: State minister for Agriculture, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Tourism, Oinam Lukhoi Singh on Wednesday said the Manipur government is committed towards inclusive and all round development of its people with the ‘Go to Village’ mission.
Speaking at an event organised by the Kakching district administration, Lukhoi, who is also the in-charge of Thoubal and Kakching districts, reiterated that the ‘Go to Village’ mission is an initiative of the government to reach out to the citizens and to deliver government assistance, schemes and citizen centric programmes at the doorstep of the masses.
He also highlighted various activities and welfare schemes of the government taken up as a measures of bringing administration close to the people, namely Cabinet meeting in all the Hill Districts, Hill Leaders’ Day, Meeyam Gi Numit, Go to Hills, CMHT, CMST among others.
While mentioning that various stalls of different government departments and banks opened at the GTV venue, Lukhoi urged the people to avail maximum benefits of such initiatives and schemes introduced for the welfare of people.
During the programme, the minister distributed assistances under various schemes, including sprinkler sets under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY), textbooks, uniforms, sports equipment under Education Department, smartphones under CM e-Support Scheme, Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT), Widows’ Pension Scheme, Pension, aid and appliances for physically challenged, and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), Manipur Start Up Scheme and Cards under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) among others.
Chairman (Manipur Electronics Development Corporation & Manipur Industrial Development Corporation), Dr Radheshyam Yumnam, Kakching MLA M Rameshwar Singh also attended the event as President and Guest of Honour respectively. Deputy Commissioner, Kakching District Dipu Gangmei, Superintendant of police, Kakching District, Victoria Yengkhom and other officials were also present.
