Sikkim reports 28 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

Imphal: Manipur reported 527 new COVID-19 cases and eight more deaths due to coronavirus on Sunday.

With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases reached 64,065 and the cumulative number of deaths due to COVID-19 complications mounted to 1,047.

The number of active cases reached 9,613, of which 2,840 persons are in home isolation and the remaining at COVID-19 hospitals and COVID-19 care facilities.

The latest eight victims were residents of Imphal East (2), Thoubal (2), Imphal West (1), Bishnupur (1), Churachandpur (1) and Kakching (1) districts.

Of the 527 new COVID-19 cases, 169 were reported from Imphal West, 78 from Imphal East, 66 from Biushnupur, 62 from Thoubal, 51 from Kakching, 45 from Churachandpur, 20 from Kangpokpi, 10 from Ukhrul, nine from Tamenglong, seven from Jiribam, three each from Tengnoupal and Chandel, two from Senapati and one each from Kamjong and Noney districts.

On Sunday, 444 more COVID-19 patients were discharged. Of these, 288 were at home isolation, 30 at RIMS, 12 at JNIMS and the rest 114 at COVID-19 care facilities. The recovery rate now stands at 83.36 per cent.
