Imphal: Manipur reported its single-day highest number of recoveries from COVID-19 on Friday, with 1,105 individuals getting discharged.

According to additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang, of the total 1,105 recovered persons, 464 were in home isolation, 15 were admitted at RIMS, nine at JNIMS and the rest 155 were admitted at other COVID-19 care facilities. The total recoveries from COVID-19 in Manipur stands at 48,902, while the recovery rate is at 83.21%.

Meanwhile, another 687 persons, including one CAPF personnel, tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total load of positive cases to 58,76.

With this, the number of active cases is now up to 8,922, of which 3,853 are in home isolation.

The new positive cases include 231 from Imphal West, 156 from Imphal East, 64 from Churachandour, 63 from Kakching, 59 from Thoubal, 11 from Kangpokpi, nine from Pherzawl, Jiribam and Tengnopal, six from Senapati, four from Chandel and Noney, two from Tamenglong, and one each from Kamjong and Ukhrul districts, respectively.

Manipur reported 19 more deaths due to COVID-19 complications, of which seven were residents of Imphal West, three each from Imphal East, Churachandpur and Thoubal, and one from Bishnupur, Kakching and Ukhrul districts. The total number of COVID-19 deaths in Manipur is now 944.
