Pragjyotishpur University holds governing body meetings in Guwahati

The 8th Governing Body Meeting of Pragjyotishpur University was held on April 26 in Guwahati. This meeting was followed by the 2nd Academic Council Meeting on April 27. The university’s chancellor Prof. Pradeep Kumar Joshi presided over both the sessions.

The meeting began with a Vastu Pujan ceremony at the university’s main campus in Hajongbari. Following this, a report was presented by the university’s registrar Prof. Jogesh Kakati, outlining the achievements of the university so far and the challenges that it faces. This was followed by a discussion on the report. The Faculty of Economics’ representative, Monami Deka, then gave a presentation on the university’s unique strengths and contributions, which sparked a lively discussion on how to utilize these skills to improve academic excellence and institutional distinction.

The second day’s meeting, which was led by the chancellor, focused on administrative matters related to the university’s efficient functioning. The committee also approved the establishment of a Statute Preparation Committee and Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) for procurement processes, in addition to approving the fee structure for the next academic year and the introduction of a new Diploma Course.
