Guwahati: Ahead of the upcoming elections in Tripura, authorities have announced the deployment of approximately 12,000 central and state paramilitary forces to ensure the smooth conduct of polls.
Voting for the Tripura West Lok Sabha seat and the Ramnagar assembly seat by-election is scheduled for April 19, while electors in the Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency will cast their votes on April 26.
As per reports, a total of 84 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) have been stationed in the state for election security. Additionally, 14 companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) arrived on Thursday, bolstering the security apparatus.
