While the rest of Mizoram was celebrating the YMA (Young Mizo Association) Day on June 15, the residents of Saikhawthlir, Chuhvel, and Kananthar – three villages in Mamit district – were in turmoil. They had lost all power on June 14 after a dose of heavy monsoon rains and thunderstorms, and there was no hope of accessing working current lines unless they got into action.
