Gyalshing: Chief Minister Prem Singh Golay inaugurated the academic building ‘Gyan Kunj’ at Geyzing College, now called Sanchaman Limboo Government Degree College on Sunday, putting an end to years of controversies and protests surrounding the delayed construction. The college, formerly marred by disputes that resulted in student arrests, celebrated a significant milestone with the inauguration of its academic block.

The institution, renamed in memory of former Chief Minister Sanchaman Limboo, witnessed the presence of his family during the inauguration. Limboo, who also served as the education minister, left a lasting legacy. The college, now known as Sanchaman Limboo Government Degree College, also incorporated the name of Arigaon village, acknowledging its significance.

From its humble beginnings in a rented building with 50 students, the college has evolved to accommodate over 1,500 students, 60 faculty members, and 30 administrative staff in its new premises.
