Covid: MoCA issues revised guidelines for arriving intl passengers from six countries

Gangtok: After almost 11,000 COVID-19 tests were conducted for returnees in Sikkim, the state health department has now opted to charge all non-Sikkimese people entering the state for COVID-19 tests. While he RT-PCR tests will include a fee of Rs 3,500 per test,TrueNat testing will be for Rs 2,000, informed health department after a State Task Force meeting chaired by chief minister Prem Singh Golay on June 30.

The non-Sikkimese people include those without residential proof in the state including those without Aadhaar card, Voter ID card, Certificate of Identification and even land documents in the state.

Further, returnees will be lodged in the same hotel, instead of being quarantined in various hotels. Until one hotel maxes out in its capacity, another hotel will not be used as a quarantine facility keeping in view the better use of resources, informed a press release from the state health department.
