According to the information given by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of N. F. Railway, 173 touts were apprehended and 437 persons involved in the theft of passenger belongings were arrested in the period of 2023-24.

According to RPF, a raid and search operation was conducted at ‘Mukhlesh Travels Service’ located at Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal, on April 23, 2024, and 5 E-Tickets worth around Rs 13,820 were recovered. One tout was apprehended during the raid and a case was registered under section 143 of the Railways Act at Dalkhola post for further course of action. On April 24, 2024, one tout and 01 railway tickets worth around Rs 3,440 were apprehended by an RPF team of Alipermoar. A case was registered at RPF post/New Coochbehar under section 143 of the Railways Act for further course of action.
