India's Indigenous Technology Cruise Missile delivers in test flight

The Integrated Test Range (ITR), located off the coast of Odisha, was the site of the flight on April 18, 2024. The Indigenous Technology Cruise Missile (ITCM), developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), successfully performed as per its intended route.

The missile was tracked using different sensors installed in the ITR, which ensured complete coverage of the flight path. The Indian Air Force’s Su-30-Mk-I aircraft also monitored the flight of the missile.

The ITCM flew at a very low altitude sea-skimming flight, demonstrating its ability to follow a desired path using waypoint navigation. The successful flight test also underlined the dependability of the indigenous propulsion system created by the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), Bengaluru.
