Manipur: CRPF enhances security after militant attack on oil tankers

Guwahati: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is facing mounting apprehension regarding the security of convoys in Manipur following a recent attack on an Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) convoy on NH-37, as per a report by News18.

The assault resulted in injuries to a driver and damaged four vehicles, sparking concerns about potential threats to convoy safety.

A senior CRPF official told News18 that similar incidents have occurred previously on NH-37, indicating a recurring pattern of attempts to loot fuel from tankers. Given that the CRPF was responsible for escorting the convoy and ensuring its security, top officials have taken serious note of the recent attack.
