Guwahati: In the upcoming first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Assam, scheduled for Friday, a total of 8,647,869 electors will play a pivotal role in deciding the fate of 35 candidates vying for seats in five constituencies.

Among the electorate, 4,282,887 are male, 4,364,859 are female, and 123 are third-gender voters, reflecting a diverse participation in the electoral process across the state. The constituencies set for polling include Kaziranga, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh, and Jorhat.

With the aim of ensuring a smooth and transparent electoral process, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Assam, has completed all necessary arrangements. Election Observers have been appointed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to maintain vigilance over law and order as well as expenditure during the elections.
