Assam Rifles convoy ambushed in Tinsukia, one soldier injured

Tinsukia: In Tinsukia district of Assam, a three-vehicle convoy of Assam Rifles fell under ambush by “unidentified insurgents” along the Assam-Arunachal border near Margherita police station on Tuesday. The attack resulted in one rifleman sustaining serious injuries.

Confirming the incident, Tinsukia Police Superintendent Abhijeet Gurav stated that the convoy, consisting of 31 Assam Rifles personnel, was fired upon around 8 am while en route from Changlang in Arunachal Pradesh to Margherita in Assam.

“As per information provided by Assam Rifles, one rifleman has sustained serious injuries,” Gurav revealed, refraining from attributing the attack to any specific outlawed group.
