Assam: Animated documentary ‘Lachit – The Warrior’ honoured by Filmfare

Guwahati:  Animated Documentary “Lachit-The Warrior” achieved a rare feat when the makers were felicitated on the stage of prestigious Filmfare awards. The Filmfare recognized the animated documentary for its outstanding contribution to storytelling.

“Lachit – The Warrior” delves into the captivating saga of Lachit Borphukan, a legendary military general from Assam whose valorous acts reshaped the course of history during the medieval period. Amidst the backdrop of Mughal invasions, the film narrates Lachit’s strategic brilliance and unwavering courage in leading the resistance against the formidable Mughal forces.

Directed by Dr. Parthasarathi Mahanta, IPS, and produced by Mina Mahanta and Indrani Baruah, the animated documentary has garnered widespread acclaim, clinching an impressive tally of 21 awards for Best Documentary across various international film festivals. Its inclusion in the Indian Panorama at the International Film Festival of India 2023 further solidifies its stature as a cinematic masterpiece.
