A new poster for James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie has been released, featuring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel. The poster, shared by Gunn on social media, evokes the classic Superman films of Christopher Reeve, with Corenswet’s Superman gazing upward in a similar pose. The poster also features a reimagined version of John Williams’ iconic Superman theme from the 1978 film, performed with a softer tone and a woman’s voice humming the melody. The poster’s release comes ahead of the highly anticipated first teaser trailer for the film, which Gunn confirmed will be released on Thursday. The film will explore Superman’s journey balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human life as Clark Kent.

The poster shows Corenswet’s Superman flying into the sky, with the bright red, blue and yellow blurry shades of his suit looking charming in the background. Gunn simply wrote, “Look up. Superman is only in theaters on July 11.”

Gunn has previously stated that the film will showcase a side of Superman that hasn’t been explored on screen before, emphasizing the science fiction elements of the character and a more imposing Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult.

The film also stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, with Terence Rosemore, Skyler Gisondo, Wendell Pierce, Sara Sampaio, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, María Gabriela de Faría, Beck Bennett, Mikaela Hoover, Christopher McDonald, Neva Howell, Pruitt Taylor Vince rounding out the cast.
