Imphal. A huge quantity of suspected narcotic items was seized by Manipur Police on Friday as part of the state government’s ‘war on drugs’ drive, in Kangpokpi district, said an official.

Two persons in connection with the case were also arrested by a team of Kangpokpi district police under the supervision of Kangpokpi SP Amrita Sinha and led by DSP L Sheimang Khongsai.

A case has been registered against the arrested persons under section 21(b)/22(b)/18(c) ND&PS Act and FIR No. 8(4)2022 GSPM-PS for further investigation, said SP Sinha.

According to SP Sinha, the recovered suspected drugs include six soap case containing suspected brown sugar weighing 237.63 gram, everyday milk packet containing suspected opium weighing 1.010 kg, two khani kokta containing suspected opium weighing 75.63 gram and one blue packet containing 200 number of suspected WY tablets weighing 20.09 gram.

From their possession, one mobile phone was also seized, she added.
