The National Film Awards were presented today in person at New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan. The awards were announced earlier this year and the prizes will be handed out to awardees by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.
The 67th National Awards were delayed from last to this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Among the awardees are Dhanush and Manoj Bajpayee who have received their awards for Best Actor and Kangana Ranaut received her award for Best Female Actor.
Super star Rajnikanth also received the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, highest honour awarded to those from the Film Industry.
Chhicchore film director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Sajid Nadiadwala reportedly dedicated their Best Film Award to Sushant Singh Rajput, who died last year saying that the late actor will always remain an “integral part” of the film.
Kangana Ranaut won her third Best Actor prize for her performances in Manikarnika (2019) and Panga (2020) while Manoj Bajpayee and Dhanush shared the Best Actor award for their respective roles in Bhonsle and Asuran, which also won Best Tamil Film award.
