Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav on Monday chaired a review meeting with the Department of Women Resource Development at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, to assess the progress of key women-centric programmes and livelihood initiatives across the state.
During the meeting, the Governor reviewed major schemes being implemented by the department, including the Transformative Livelihood Intervention (TLI) Project, Protection and Promotion of Tribal Designs, Myki initiatives, the Multi Training Centre, the Integrated Development-cum-Resource Centre (IDRC), the District Resource and Development Programme (DRDP), and various entrepreneurship and skill development programmes for women.
The department also briefed the Governor on the proposed Myki Hub at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama. Supported under the Chief Minister’s Innovative Programme Fund, the hub aims to provide a permanent marketplace for women entrepreneurs, artisans and farmers while promoting traditional and contemporary products. The project is expected to be completed by November 2026.
The meeting also reviewed the construction of Working Women Hostels in several districts under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) initiative, along with ongoing efforts to expand women resource centres, strengthen livelihood interventions and improve market linkages for women entrepreneurs.

Officials highlighted challenges such as limited financial resources and manpower, stressing the need for greater support to expand programmes aimed at improving women’s livelihoods across the state.
Appreciating the department’s efforts, Governor Yadav urged officials to strengthen convergence with other departments and stakeholders, ensure the effective implementation of programmes, and continue creating sustainable economic opportunities for women in Nagaland.
