Aizawl: The BJP Mizoram State Office at Mipui Run, Upper Republic, hosted a Karthar Inhlanna and a political session. At the gathering, State President Vanlalhmuaka expressed concerns over the slow progress of development projects in Mizoram, despite financial allocations from the central government.

“Funds for the construction of Lengpui Airport have already been released, but progress has been sluggish. It seems that the central government is more concerned about us than our own state leadership,” he stated.

He also mentioned that the four-lane highway project was a central initiative with allocated funds, yet the state government has failed to utilize the funds effectively.

Vanlalhmuaka highlighted ongoing issues, including disputes over compensation that have delayed road repairs between Vairengte and Aizawl, causing significant inconvenience to the public. He emphasised the importance of these infrastructure projects and the need for the state government to prioritize their completion to improve public welfare.

He further criticised the lack of progress on the Aizawl By-Pass Road, a project aimed at reducing traffic congestion in the city. “The central government has sanctioned Rs. 500 crore for the Aizawl By-Pass Road, but there has been no visible progress. It is disheartening to see that while other states are moving forward, Mizoram seems to be left behind,” he said.

Vanlalhmuaka also discussed the importance of utilising PM schemes effectively, such as the MUDRA Loan scheme, which is designed to boost small businesses and entrepreneurship.

“We have emphasised the importance of these schemes in our meetings with national leaders. The central government has arranged loans through various banks to support entrepreneurship, which is crucial for economic growth. It is essential that the state government aligns its policies to facilitate these schemes,” he added.

He called for a more proactive approach from the state government, encouraging it to adopt practical measures to ensure the success of national schemes and improve the economic landscape of Mizoram.
