On November 25, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, along with Satoshi Suzuki, Ambassador of Japan to India inaugurated the Cherry Blossom Festival 2021 at Wards Lake, Shillong.

He visited the different stalls at the Shillong to see the products of Meghalaya displayed at the festival.

The main objective of the Cherry blossom festival is to promote music, art, and culture. The festival not only gives a platform to talented artists across the state but also provides them the opportunity to come together to learn and share their ideas and talents,

During the festival, several contests are held including singing and dancing, fashion shows, local wine-making, and Japanese and Korean food preparation.

The festival is also a platform for budding local musicians to showcase their talents and further they can take up music as a career option.
