Happy with two seats, great potential for 2023: AL Hek

BJP MLA Al Hek said the BJP is yet to decide on their next step in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) after the saffron party bagged two seats in the council.

Congress, NPP in close contest

The Congress party has won 12 seats in elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) in Meghalaya and NPP has won 11 seats, with neither party enjoying a clear majority.

Out of 29 seats, Congress managed to pull 12 seats with a win in Kharkutta, Rongrong, Kharkutta, Samandagre, Williamnagar, Boldamgre, Betasing, Amongpara, Dengnakpara, Shyamnagar, Batabari and Balachanda. Also Read

Voting for 29 constituencies of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) elections were held on April 12 across 409 polling stations.

Total 182 candidates are in the fray whose fate will be decided by 7,43,717 voters.
