Imphal: Manipur government on Friday suspended three more of its employees for renting out their allotted quarters to unauthorised occupants, which it said was illegal and amounted to ‘grave misconduct’.
As per the suspension order, T Subol Singh, a physical education teacher, was found violating the Rule No. 15 (A) of CCS(CCA) Rules 1965 by renting out his allotted government quarter to one Yengkhom Sushil Singh.
“In exercise of power conferred under Rule 10(1)(a) of CCS(CCA) Rules 1965, hereby place T Subol Singh, physical education teacher under suspension with immediate effect,” said youth affairs and sports director T Phulen Meitei.
Singh has been prohibited from leaving Imphal, his headquarters, without prior permission from the concerned authority during the suspension period.
Similarly, SD Erengnei Chiru, a ward attendant at Moreh primary health center (PHC) was found subletting her allotted government quarter at Langol Housing Complex in Imphal to another unauthorised person namely Paokholen Haokip of M Shongpi in Senapati district.
A disciplinary proceeding against SD Erengnei Chiru is contemplated and she has been placed under suspension with immediate effect, said director of health services, Manipur.
Meanwhile, during the suspension duration, Chiru has been asked not to leave her headquarters at Moreh in Tengnoupal district without taking prior permission from the authorities.

In another incident, JNIMS Director L Deben Singh issued a suspension order for P Thanga Guite, a grade IV official, with immediate effect.
As per the order, Guite was found subletting the government quarter allotted to him at Langol Housing Complex in Imphal to another civilian family.
Earlier, on Wednesday, an Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) jawan was placed under suspension for subletting his allotted government quarter to another unauthorised family.
