Imphal: Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Friday said that any person caught with illegal drugs would face a compulsory jail term of one year.
The chief minister, who is also the leader of the House, was responding to the general observations and suggestions raised by the members of the Assembly on the second day of the ongoing first session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
“Any person arrested with illegal drugs would face a compulsory jail term of one year, which will be extendable up to two years under the relevant act,” said CM Biren Singh.
