Guwahati: There are more crorepatis and criminals in the new Manipur Assembly as compared to the 2017 elections. This was revealed in the report of  Manipur Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) which have analysed the self-sworn affidavits of all 60 winning candidates in the Manipur 2022 assembly elections.

BJP has won 32 seats, followed by NPP which has won 7 seats. Out of the 60 winning candidates analysed in 2022, 14 (23%) winning candidates have declared criminal cases against themselves.

Out of 60 MLAs analysed during Manipur Assembly elections in 2017, 2 (3%) MLAs had declared criminal cases against themselves.

Eleven (18%) winning candidates have declared serious criminal cases against themselves. Out of 60 MLAs analysed during Manipur Assembly elections in 2017, 2 (3%) MLAs had declared serious criminal cases against themselves.

Out of the 60 winning candidates analysed, 48 (80%) are crorepatis. Out of 60 MLAs analysed during Manipur assembly elections 2017, 32 (53%) MLAs were crorepatis.   
The average of assets per winning candidates in the Manipur Assembly Elections 2022 is Rs 3.75 crore. 

The average of assets per MLA in the Manipur Assembly elections 2017 was Rs 2.16 crore. Twenty-five out of 32 from BJP, all the 5 candidates from Congress, 5 out of 6 candidates from JD(U), all the 5 candidates from NPP and 2 out of 3 independent candidates have declared assets of more than Rs 1 crore.
