Acting on a tip-off, a combined team of Narcotic Cell- Imphal East Police, under the supervision of SP & SDPO arrested 6 persons involved in drugs-trafficking & peddling and seized 276 gm of heroin worth about Rs 55,20,000 in international value.
The operation is part of the Manipur Government’s ‘War on Drugs’ Campaign.
According to SP Imphal East SP N Herojit Singh, acting on specific inputs, the combined Narcotics Cell carried out intense frisking and checking in the Soibam Leikai Area of Imphal East district yesterday evening.
