The Assam cabinet on Friday decided to create Adharsh Vidyalaya Sangathan in the lines of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan in the state.
“Assam Cabinet has decided to constitute Adarsh Vidyalaya Sangathan to manage model schools in the line of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. There are 25 model schools currently running and 21 model schools under construction,” state education minister Ranoj Pegu said in a tweet after the cabinet meeting.
The Adharsh Vidyalaya Sangathan will function under the chief minister as chairman with the education minister as its vice-chairman, a CMO release here said.
Twenty-five Adarsh Vidyalayas will be brought under the ambit of the Sanghathan. More schools are likely to be added under the new organisation. In addition to this, the cabinet also decided to set up one Adharsh Vidyalaya in each assembly constituency of the state.
The state cabinet also approved Rs 209.84 crore under the Mission Basundhara programme undertaken by the land and revenue department to streamline revenue administration in the state.
To address the key issues such as the survey of non-cadastral villages, drafting of service rules, inter-district transfer of lot mandals, simplification of partition of ejmali patta, and hereditary transfer of land etc., the Assam government has planned to launch “Mission Basundhara” on October 2.
Advocating for total reforms of the state’s revenue administration, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asked the department to complete all pending partition and mutation cases in a mission mode by opening a portal, organising Rajah Adalat etc., within the next few months.
Sarma has also stressed that all the pending matters should be worked out by October 10.
The chief minister also directed the department to achieve the goal of completely digitising the land records of the state by 2023.
The cabinet also decided that Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will present the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Award for National Integration and National Contribution on October 3.
The prize amount of the biennial award has been increased from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
The cabinet also changed the nomenclature of Assam Ratna to Asom Baibhav, Assam Vibhushan to Asom Saurav and Assam Shree to Asom Gaurav.
The cabinet also approved the Rs 3284 APDCL project to tackle the low voltage problem across the state.
Under the programme, 2674 new high voltage transformers will be installed and 7000 km new 33KV and 11KV lines will also be constructed.
A total of 196 new 33KV substations will be constructed and 1.80 lakh new prepaid smart meters will be installed in the programme. The cabinet also approved the extension of ex-gratia from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh to the next of kin of army/CAPF personnel martyred in the line of duty during counter-insurgency operations, anti-left wing extremist operation, disaster management. Fight against the state’s enemy within and outside Assam.
Under the same circumstances, the same assistance of Rs 50 lakh will be extended to police personnel, home guards and VDP volunteers.
