Perseverance and hard work is all that you require to go forward in life, as showcased by a young barefoot cyclist from Cambodia. The viral image showcases a moment of mountain bike racing where young cyclists can be seen competing with each other and a barefoot boy, without any professional gear whatsoever, is leading the trail.

Blazing ahead of the rest, the boy is without a helmet, in a run-down cycle, and is barefooted. People can be seen milling to photograph the unique spectacle that was unfolding in front of their eyes.

The event was organised on Tuesday by CVP Cycling- an amateur sports team which brought in hundreds of participants and the young boy was one of them. He became an instant hit on social media as many started to inquire about the boy in an effort to provide any help necessary.

One such effort became successful as a Facebook user Lang Tyleang, who seeing his determination gifted him a Giant hardtail. The boy was also appreciated by the cycling community and senior cyclists alike as he was even gifted cash in hand by many.

A post was also created in Reddit so that the users might be able to search out the determined cyclist and provide him with support of some kind. Many users pointed out that the young boy did not even have a helmet which is a pre-requisite for mountain biking.

However, the photo which shows everything about economic disparity, lack of proper gears, etc, pales in comparison to the fierce and determined eyes of the barefoot cyclist.
