Beyond the truth for removing Palestine labels from Google, Apple maps
Activities and news sites circulated news about removing Palestine labels from Google and Apple maps. When searching for the state of Palestine in Google Maps (Apple as well), only the name of Israel and the neighbouring countries appears.
That was an alleged answer to the deal of the century or Trump peace plan which was made by the American President himself and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to divide Palestine between Israel and Palestine. The deal of century includes the continuation of Israel control over most of the West Bank, which Israel occupied in 1967, the annexation of the big settlement blocs in the West Bank to the state of Israel, and maintenance of the city of Jerusalem united under Israeli sovereignty.
The map shows precisely, in borders, how the historic map of Palestine has altered throughout the Israeli occupation, with the last one showing yet another sacrifice in the land that the projected plan demands of Palestine.
A leading news daily explained on its tweeter account that the search engine of Google and Apple deleted the name of the state of Palestine from their approved maps. Moreover, the Russian Yandex engine is the only site that has preserved the location and the name of Palestine without change.
The activists on tweeter expressed their anger, describing this procedure as a new step in the scheme to Judaize Jerusalem and erase the identity of the Palestinian state. They called the users to continuous posting and tweeting about the state of Palestine and the Palestinian identity. In this case, the world does not forget Palestine. Besides, they called for boycott dealing with Google services and replacing it with Russian Search Engine Maps service (Yandex).
Accordingly, Google commented on the topic that there was indeed no name of Palestine on the map, but rather, the name of Palestine would appear if one clicks on a specific area of the location such as the West Bank or Gaza Strip.
Although Google has never added the name Palestine on the map, there are a large number of users on social networking and news sites who believe that it was already a topic. Moreover, people interacting on this issue use the hashtag #PalestineIsHere, which on the other hand criticizes Google.
One cannot ignore the fact that the identity of Palestine will remain forever. Many are of the view that whatever one does to delete the identity of Palestine and to steal the Palestinian culture (food or embroidered dress), it will not give them a right to delete the history from their minds and take Palestine.
