Global experts touted Kim Yo-jong to be among the top ranks of people to succeed the North Korean leader
Leader of Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) or North Korea, Kim Jong Un is reportedly in a state of coma and his sister Kim Yo-jong has been given control over the country's national and international matters, quoted several media reports.
Kim Yo-jong is the younger sister of DPRK leader Kim Jong-un and she is the one and only of the siblings considered a close and powerful ally.
She first gained international attention when she became the first member of Kim dynasty to visit South Korea in 2018. She was in the Winter Olympics delegation when North and South Korea competed in the Olympics as a joint team.
Since then, Kim Yo-jong has been seen in several occasions working alongside her brother Kim Jong-un when he met South Korean president Moon Jae-in, US President Donald Trump and China's Xi Jingping.
She grabbed everyone's attention in April 2020 when her brother was absent from all public events in that month. She was seen in action with various senior political roles in her brother's absence.
Earlier in April 2020, when Kim Jong-un was rumoured to be suffering from poor health post his absence from public events, global experts touted Kim Yo-jong to be among the top ranks of people to succeed the North Korean leader.
