The glasses were in possession of a man whose uncle got the glasses from Mahatma Gandhi himself
A pair of gold-plated glasses worn by Mahatma Gandhi has fetched 260,000 pounds (approximately Rs 2.5 crore) at an auction in the United Kingdom.
In a surprising turn of events, the glasses of Mahatma Gandhi was dropped in the letterbox of the auction centre. The glasses were in possession of a man whose uncle got the glasses from Mahatma Gandhi himself as a gift.
East Bristol Auctions, the UK-based company that sold the gold-plated glasses took to Instagram and wrote “We found them just four weeks ago in our letterbox, left there by a gentleman whose uncle had been given them by Gandhi himself.”
“An incredible result for an incredible item! Thanks to all those who bid,” said the auctioneer.
