Agartala: As many as 73 gram panchayats have achieved 100 per cent vaccination against COVID-19 across all eight districts in Tripura.
North Tripura has the highest number of COVID-19 vaccinations, followed by South Tripura. The state has a total of 1,178 gram panchayats or village committees spread across eight districts.
In a social media post, chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb wrote, “I am very happy to announce that hundred percent vaccinations have been completed in 73 gram panchayat areas in different districts of the state.”
He also thanked all the health workers, officials concerned and the people of the state for their enthusiastic participation in the campaign.
“Our goal is to prevent the spread of coronavirus by completing the COVID vaccination in the whole of Tripura as soon as possible,” he said. While advising people to stay healthy, he also told them to be careful and follow the COVID-19 rules.
According to a report of the health department, 39 gram panchayats have completed 100 per cent vaccination in North Tripura, 21 in South Tripura, nine in Sepahijala, three in Dhalai and one in Gomati district. However, no gram panchayat in West Tripura, Unakoti and Khowai districts has completed 100 per cent vaccination against the coronavirus so far.

Meanwhile, Tripura has so far administered 25,02,523 vaccines across all eight districts of the state. These include 19,19,600 of the first dose and 5,82,923 of the second.
This has also covered 8,01,153 people in the 18-44 years age group, 9,15,895 in the 45-59 years age group and 5,41,484 above 60 years of age. A total of 1,23,350 doses of Covishield COVID-19 vaccine are available with the state government.
Tripura has reported 64,863 COVID-19 cases, of which 61,070 have recovered and the remaining 3,055 are active. The state has also registered 672 COVID-19 deaths.
