Agartala: As a surge of Coronavirus cases continues in the state, the Tripura government has decided to extend COVID-19 curfew restrictions for another 7 days after reviewing the situation over the past week.
The duration of the curfew restrictions will remain the same in areas under Agartala Municipal Corporation. While three municipalities have been added under similar curfew rules, restrictions have been lifted in four municipalities that have reported a substantial decrease in new infections.
As per a previous order, curfew was imposed in 12 municipalities, including AMC, till 5 am on June 26.
The curfew will continue till 5 am on July 3 in areas under Agartala Municipal Corporation and 10 more civic bodies in Tripura, an order issued by chief secretary Kumar Alok said. In addition, the concerned district magistrates may impose curfew restrictions elsewhere, if deemed necessary.

According to the new order, curfew restrictions have been extended in Agartala Municipal Corporation, Ranirbazar Municipal Council, Jirania Nagar Panchayat, Udaipur Municipal Council, Kumarghat Municipal Council, Kailashahar Municipal Council, Panisagar Nagar Panchayat and Khowai Nagar Panchayat areas.
On the other hand, Dharmanagar Municipal Council, Kamalpur and Sonamura Nagar Panchayats in Tripura have now been brought under curfew restrictions.

Shops and markets will be open in curfew areas from 6 am to 2 pm. However, gyms, shopping malls, cinema halls, swimming pools, beauty parlors, salons, and parks will remain closed. Similarly, dhabas and restaurants are allowed to remain open till 2 pm.
