Agartala: Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Friday fulfilled the wish of a 14-year-old girl who recently shared a video message on Facebook requesting him for a study table and dry ration for her family.
Barsha Das lives in Mahesh Khala, a suburb of Agartala. The student of Class 8 in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya had recently sent a video message to the chief minister.
In her message, Barsha had told the chief minister that she lives with her parents and younger brother in a small house. Her father’s financial condition is so weak that they can’t even afford to buy a study table for her, she had said.
Shortly after sending the message, Barsha’s mother got infected with COVID-19. The situation worsened and there was a shortage of food items in the family. A helpless Barsha then again sent a message to the chief minister on Facebook.
In the new message, Barsha appealed him to provide them with food and medicines for her ailing mother.
The message came to the notice of the chief minister and he immediately directed the authorities concerned to help Barsha. The chief minister’s office (CMO) became active after receiving the instruction and took the necessary steps without wasting any time.
A day after receiving the video message, officials came to her house with a study table, various food items and medicines for her mother. After receiving such quick and necessary help from the chief minister, Barsha’s family became emotional.
They did not believe that the chief minister of the state would give a response to a video message of a child. Barsha and her family thanked CM Deb for his help at the time of crisis.
This incident once again proves that the chief minister is consistently active in serving the people of the state. Just as he went to the ground to address the grievances of the people of the state, he also responded to the pleas of the people of the state on social media.
