The Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) has prepared a preliminary list of 492 shortlisted candidates and started preparations for their interview. The process of interviewing them will start from May 31, an official said.
The state cabinet on May 8 had given its approval for the appointment of doctors on an emergency basis to deal with the coronavirus situation.
A total of 164 doctors will be recruited through TPSC. The target was set to complete the recruitment process within the month.
The recruitment test will have 100 marks for API and 15 marks for interview. However, those involved in the treatment of corona patients will be given an incentive of 10 marks.
At present, there are 118 vacancies in MBBS, three vacancies in homeopathy and 27 vacancies in BDS. On the other hand, there are 997 MBBS, 18 homeopathy, 42 Ayurvedic and 53 BDS doctors working in various hospitals under the Tripura government.
Besides, under the National Health Mission, there are 205 doctors working in Ayurvedic and homeopathy, 47 in BDS and five in MBBS.
TPSC on Wednesday released the preliminary list of 492 candidates for the recruitment of 164 MBBS doctors. In that recruitment process, 98 candidates have applied for 101 vacancies in scheduled tribes (ST), 83 in 28 vacancies in scheduled castes (SC) and 311 for 35 vacancies in general category.
They have been asked to collect their temporary admission certificates from the TPSC website on May 27.
The interview process will start from May 31 and the government has directed to complete the recruitment process by the second week of June.
