Agartala: As the number of coronavirus cases rise in Tripura, the Sepahijala district administration has taken up the initiative to meet home isolation patients of COVID-19 virtually three days in a week and help them fight the deadly coronavirus.
Sepahijala district magistrate Viswasree B took up the special initiative through which the doctors will interact directly with home isolation patients via video call and offer advice.
The special session which started from Tuesday continued for 2 hours and received a huge response from people across the district.
“Kudos to the health and district team for making this possible,” Viswasree wrote.
The district magistrate also said that she was overwhelmed with the response during the first session where the doctors virtually interacted with home isolated patients

The administration also interacted with mental health experts where many issues were raised and effectively advised by the experts. Some administration-related issues were also pointed out which the district magistrate assured to address them immediately.
“There was an amazing response for virtual interaction with #covid positive patients under home isolation, during the last 2 days. So, this will be done thrice a week,” the district magistrate wrote.

Discussion will be done on clinical management every Monday and Friday, mental health on Wednesdays between 2 pm and 4 pm on Google Meet.

Accordingly to the latest data, the Sepahijala district has tested a total of 21,497 samples of which 787 people tested positive. However, 208 people have recovered and five persons have succumbed to the virus. The district currently has 574 active cases, most of them are under home isolation.
The Sepahijala district magistrate is known for her unique ideas and ways in dealing with situation. Earlier in January, Viswasree B under special drive decided to set up panchayat libraries across 169 gram panchayats to help people utilise their time reading books and newspapers.
