Agartala: In an attempt to boost people’s immunity system against the novel coronavirus, the health department has started distributing homoeopathic medicine among 50,000 families living under Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) area starting December 16.
“We will distribute ‘Arsenicum Album 30’ through 14 government homoeopathic dispensaries and Netaji Subhash State Homeopathic Hospital at Agartala Renters Colony under AMC area”, said Tripura government medical officer, Dr Surya Sen.

He also said that this is aimed at increasing the immunity of the human body and building a COVID-19 free country.
Sen, who is also the chairman of ‘Arsenicum Album 30’ distribution committee, appealed to all the COVID fighters, media, various social and voluntary organisations in the state to help in making the campaign a success.
He also informed that earlier, this drug was provided to the people of Gujarat, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh which showed positive results, following which Tripura has decided to launch a drive in AMC areas.
“Anybody above the age of one can take the dose of the homoeopathic drug for three days on an empty stomach. The dose has to be repeated after one month by maintaining the same schedule in case the infection exists in the community”, Sen added.

Earlier, in July chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Corona Pratirodh Abhiyan’, a month-long distribution programme of vitamin C-enriched, ready-to-eat pineapple slices and lemon juice to boost public immunity in urban areas and subdivision headquarters.
The state government had decided to distribute pineapple slice and lemon juice across all eight districts in 316 centres including 316 all the wards of municipalities, nagar panchayats and headquarters of sub-divisions and districts headquarters.
As of Friday a total of 5,60,968 samples have been collected, of which 33,098 samples have been tested. The active cases stands at 249, while 375 people have succumbed to this virus with a fatality rate of 1.13 percent and recovery rate stands at 98.10 percent.
